Thank You, Rick Mauro

After eight years of dedicated service on the Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation Board of Directors, including serving as Board Chair since 2022, Rick Mauro is concluding his term with a legacy of leadership, generosity, and unwavering commitment to our mission.

Throughout his time with the Foundation, Rick has been a passionate advocate for healthcare in our community and a steadfast supporter of the patients, families, and care teams who rely on Hotel Dieu Shaver. Whether attending Foundation events, celebrating milestone moments, participating in cheque presentations, or helping guide important conversations around the Board table, Rick consistently led with thoughtfulness, integrity, and purpose.

His impact on the Foundation has been both significant and lasting. Rick's leadership helped strengthen the organization during a period of growth and change, while his generosity as a donor and his willingness to champion our cause inspired others to do the same. His presence, wisdom, and steady guidance have been invaluable to both the Board and Foundation staff.

Among his many contributions, Rick played an important role in growing and strengthening the Board itself. Through his commitment to board development and recruitment, he helped welcome many new members whose diverse experiences and perspectives continue to enrich the Foundation's leadership today.

Welcoming Marty Hatfield as Board Chair

As we celebrate Rick Mauro's many contributions, we are also pleased to welcome Marty Hatfield as the new Chair of the Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation Board of Directors.

Since joining the Board in 2022, Marty has brought valuable insight, thoughtful leadership, and a deep commitment to the Foundation's mission. Her collaborative approach, passion for community impact, and dedication to advancing healthcare excellence have made her a respected and engaged member of our Board.

Marty assumes the role of Chair at a particularly exciting time for the Foundation. As Hotel Dieu Shaver continues to grow and evolve, including the development of the new South Niagara Hospital and other transformative initiatives across the healthcare system, the Foundation is poised to play an increasingly important role in supporting exceptional patient care throughout our region.
