10 years on the ice - a decade of impact at HDS!
Thank you to our incredible community for supporting Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation’s 10th annual Celebrity Ice Cup.
NHL Alumni laced up their skates to face off with and against Niagara hockey amateurs for Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation’s 10th annual Celebrity Ice Cup.
This milestone year, players and teams have raised more than $330,000+ in support of patient care equipment at Hotel Dieu Shaver.
14 community teams from across Niagara and Hamilton took to the ice alongside NHL alumni, including Curtis Joseph, Doug Gilmour, John Scott, Theo Peckham, Rick Vaive, Brad May and more. The event began with Draft Night on Thursday, February 26, where teams selected an NHL alumni to join their roster based on their fundraising totals. The tournament day followed on Friday, February 27, at the Gale Centre Arena in Niagara Falls.

Proceeds from Celebrity Ice Cup support the purchase of vital patient care equipment, advanced technology, and upgrades to treatment areas at Hotel Dieu Shaver — Niagara’s only rehabilitation hospital.
Because of our generous community, we are able to provide the incredible team at HDS with the tools they need to rebuild lives & renew hope for patients.

While government funding covers day-to-day operations, it is hospital foundations that provide the essential equipment needed for patient care. We are deeply grateful for the incredible fundraising efforts of our teams and for our community whose continuous support transforms lives.”
