A Lasting Legacy of Care
A remarkable act of generosity is helping ensure the future of specialized Parkinson’s rehabilitation in our community.
We are deeply grateful to Mr. John Pierce who left a generous gift of $200,000 in his Will. As per his wishes, this gift has been directed to Hotel Dieu Shaver’s Parkinson’s Rehab Program - an essential service that is funded entirely through donations. Because of this extraordinary gift, funding for the program is now secured for the coming year, ensuring that more individuals living with Parkinson’s disease can access the care and support they need, close to home.
This is more than a financial contribution – it’s a reflection of personal values and a commitment to the well-being of others. This is a powerful example of how one individual can make a difference well beyond their lifetime.
Jeane Davis Fyfe, Director of Rehabilitation, reflects on what this generous gift means for our community:
“Mr. Pierce’s thoughtful gift reflects a deep belief in the importance of rehab services for those in our community living with Parkinson’s disease. His generosity ensures that another year of this specialized program is now guaranteed for our patients in the Niagara region. Knowing that we can make a difference in more lives is fantastic.”
Legacy gifts like this one are a powerful way to make a lasting impact - supporting patient care not just today, but for generations to come.
